Barnacles hostel announces the winner of iPad!

Barnacles Quay Street House, the only Galway’s hostel located in the prestigious entertainment area of Latin Quarter is delighted to announce the winner of their Facebook competition! Richard Cawley, originally from Ballina, Co Mayo, studying at NUI Galway  was the lucky one winning brand new iPad in the competition that has seen over 2000 people competing for the luxury award.

Barnacles Quay Street House hostel features different rooms types perfect for modern day traveller – from private double and twin rooms to dorms with 12 beds. All rooms are ensuite and come with a free breakfast. Large common room with internet points, free WIFI, different board games, TV, Nintendo Wii and many other entertainment options is guest’s favourite place to meet up before enjoying the nightlife and sites of Galway. It’s spooktacular…It’s devlish….and it’s gonna be one helluva party!!

The Galway Aboo Festival returns to the streets of Galway this bank holiday weekend! On Saturday the 29th of October the streets of the Latin Quarter will be transformed with exotic sculptures, wild music and spectacular feats – defying gravity, spinning fire and igniting the imagination with light, sound, movement and shadow! It’s all you might expect from a carnival …but with a spooky twist!

On Sunday, the businesses of the Latin Quarter have come together to organise a street wide trick or treat…meant for the kids but anyone dressed up can avail of some treats :)

Thing you’ve got the moves??? The Michael Jackson Thriller Dance will take place at the Spanish Arch at 4pm. Anyone can take part and it’s a perfectly creepy way to start the night!

With over 60 free events taking place over the weekend there will be something for everyone.

Little Havana DJReturning to the Havana Cultura stage this year are the legendary Cuban All Stars, the eclectic Sabor Cubano and the Cuban Jazz Project. International performers La Tinto Bros., local heroes the Disconauts and Galway’s very own eight-piece salsa band Cuba Libre, will also feature.

Groovalizacion DJs will bring their vibes, grooves and cultural fusions to the Latin QLittle Havana Crowduarter, with a host of other bands and DJs from around the world, ensuring the pulse of Havana is felt throughout the city.
