Dublin …the city of a thousand welcomes!!

Cead Mile Failte…..a hundred thousand welcomes!!

Dublin has become the only city in the world where the locals literally queue up to welcome visitors. A new project called City of a Thousand Welcomes will show case our famous Irish welcome!!  Visitors can sign up to share a pint or a cuppa with a Dubliner for a hearty welcome to the city and a chat about their trip.

This is a fun, safe and FREE way to bring visitors and Dubliners together for a bit of craic!! All Dubliners taking part in the initiative have been vetted by Gardi ensured that visitors meet only the sanest of Dubliners ;)

To meet with our Dublin Ambassadors over a free drink or cup of tea in three great Dublin institutions: the Merrion Hotel, Bewley’s Café and the Porterhouse. It’s easy visit the following website and sign up!! www.cityofathousandwelcomes.com

Over 2,500 people have applied to meet Dublin visitors, proving that Dublin really is one of the friendliest cities in the world!! Among the volunteers are well-known Dubliners such as Victoria Smurfit, David McWilliams, Bill Cullen, Graham Knuttel, former Miss World Rosanna Davison and Presidential candidate Senator David Norris.
