Bus/Train Directions

Bus

There are two bus stations in Galway, one services the public bus company and the other services private bus companies. Both stations are only a 5 minute walk from Barnacles Hostel. Please see directions in the Walking section.

Travelling to and from Dublin:

•  Bus Éireann - The public bus service offers an hourly bus service running between Dublin’s central bus station and the Galway bus station. This takes on average 3 hours and 40 minutes.

•  GoBus - A quicker service is offered by this private company who run 14 services between the two cities daily (and Dublin Airport). This service takes on average 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Train

The train station is a 5 minute walk from Barnacles Hostel. Currently there are 7 trains running daily between Dublin and Galway by Iarnrod Éireann.
