One of the biggest events in Dublin this January will be Temple Bar Tradfest – and you are lucky, it is happening literally all around our hostel! Tradfest is known as Dublin’s biggest and best festival of Irish Music and Culture.
This year’s line up includes a special 20th Anniversary Concert celebrating Frankie Kennedy his life and music with Altan & Guests; a unique night featuring musical icons Stockton’s Wing & Frankie Gavin & De Dannan; Paul Brady, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist & one of Ireland’s most popular artists; Bellowhead, winner of Best Album at the 2013 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards; Seth Lakeman folk-inspired, multi-award winning singer-songwriter; Frances Black, one of Dublin’s favourite & most charming singers; legendary singer & songwriter Johnny Duhan; Eleanor McEvoy, with her unique voice & beautiful playing & the olllam, a magical marriage of tradition and technology. Carlos Núñez will be performing in the stunning surrounds of St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
The Temple Bar TradFest also features free events, music & dance workshops, outdoor stages, street markets; pipe bands, ceili, street performances, film screenings, music trail plus much much more. The programme brings street performers, face painting, mobile farms, outdoor stages, live painting and much more on the streets of Temple Bar!
