The Galway Sea Festival will run over the June Bank Holiday Weekend with a focus on maritime activities and will feature family events, including seafood trails, music, dance and entertainment. It takes place across Salthill beach, just a short walk from our hostel in Galway – we are in face the closest hostel to Salthill. We recommend going for an ice cream and a walk
For the adventurous souls out there – Hundreds of people gather on a beach, shed their clothes and leggit into the North Atlantic Ocean. It’s the world’s first skinny dip for charity and a little bit of fun for a great cause! This event supports Irish cancel charities. Event is taking place on 1st of June.
14-22 June, there will be cycling events all over Galway county, organised the local authority, community groups, charities and cycling groups. This is great way to see more of the area, stunning scenery and make new friends on two wheels!
Galway’s oldest rowing regatta, this year it celebrates its 130th anniversary, and once again entries from all four provinces with many of the top rowing clubs in Ireland are expected to compete.
The Galway Sessions Festival, celebrating Irish folk and traditional music and the music Irish emigrants brought with them across the world, returns from Sunday June 15 to Sunday 22. As in previous years, the festival’s Scottish connection will be retained with an array of performers travelling from Galway’s cultural partner Stirling to take part. Events take place in the Town Hall Theastre and in pubs throughout the city with sessions planned in The Crane Bar, The King’s Head, Tigh Choili’s, Taaffe’s Bar ,The Quays, Tigh Neachtains, and Monroe’s Tavern.
There is a major Karting event being at Pallas Karting on the weekend of June 21st and June 22nd. Karters from all over the island of Ireland will be battling it out for the title of All Ireland Karting Champion and hold the coveted IRL Plate for 2014/15. There will be over a hundred entries from the age of 8 years old up. It is free to spectate and your ensured of a cracking two days of racing.
Taking place 28th – 29th June 2014 The Serpent’s Lair on Inis Mór will once again be awoken this summer when the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series returns to the Aran Islands. 27 meter plunge is only for the most amazing divers, but you can go and watch!
